J.      PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCES:
               Agronomy:
I have more than 25years professional experience in field oriented agronomic crop science skills. Various innovative technologies have been developed.  These include among others those for: drip/trickle irrigation system for off/dry season horticultural crops productivity; alternative solanum spp graft technologies for soil borne diseases such as bacterial wilt of tomato control; alternative weed control to the use of herbicides; improved profitability/productivity (of produce from in-situ live mulch in cereal-based system) as well as easy and quicker acceptance of technologies by farmers.   Emphases have been placed on the use of watermelon, cucumber and soybean as in-situ live mulch/cover crops in (dual-purpose grain amaranth NH84/445-2 cultivar) cereal based cropping systems that enhances nutritional food security.  The work on amaranth is sponsored by the International Fund for Science (Stockholm, Sweden). Publications abound upon request for my achievements in research and development to sustainably improve yield. I have participated in sub tropical (Biu, Bukuru, Jos – Nigeria) and tropical horticultural production evaluation trials, surveys, germplasm collection and preservation, across sub-Sahara Africa (SSA) agro-ecological zones sponsored by the World Bank and the National Agriculture Research Programme (NARP).

         Extension/Socio-economic:
I provide NIHORT agricultural extension services of packaged technologies to farmers, growers, individuals, NGOs, institutions/representatives, stakeholders etc. through radio, television, personal, seminar, conference participation etc. as directed by the NIHORT authorities being the sole national research institute into promoting horticultural mandate the whole of SSA. Also experienced in the training of subject matter specialist, superintendents, scientists, graduate students and clients etc. through NIHORT management training research methods (MTRM) program. Trained as well in the use of audio-visuals, display chats, lecture note, seminars in communicating technologies to clients. Recommend research direction to scientist through farmer, clients, stakeholders etc interrelationships. All my researches are demand driven.

Experienced in seeking answers to research based questions from farmers/clients; interpretation of farmers/clients response as base for on station experiment design; agronomic economics profitability of production are borne in mind in my experimental designs as indicated in my publications e.g. in the Journal of Vegetable Production, American Journal of Experimental Research and other publications.

R.  OVERALL SELF-APPRAISAL:
I have contributed modestly to the science of agronomy, nutrition, agribusiness, agricultural programs and projects in through research, extension, project execution, implementation, assessment, reporting, socio-political, economic as well as agro community development and on-the-job training activities.  My research had resulted in scientific publication reprints of which had been requested/sorted for by colleagues all around the world and by libraries in advanced countries.  My activities had also resulted in the development of appropriate agricultural production, processing and utilization technologies for farmers and other relevant stakeholders. Right from my youth I had been involved in voluntary, social and humanitarian organizations (including recently Vice Chairman of my residence Community Landlord Association of over 2,200 households; elected Vice Chair NIHORT sports Council) most of which I had served as an executive member.  I am a strong believer in divine providence, hard work, good quality jobs, self respect, personal integrity, peaceful/amiable resolution of conflicts and excellent leadership by example emulated from my bosses.  I am looking forward to years of more useful service to the global community especially in sub Saharan Africa, and humanity in particular.  I am sure I have the potentials to attain greater heights and attributes to motivate professional colleagues and sub-ordinates to do the same.
